This was one of a pair next to a dirt road I was walking. Heard scuffling sounds and found this guy. He was oblivious of me until he almost bumped into me at which point he did a deliberate 180 and shuffled off. This was the first one I've ever been really close to! 15 minutes previously a jogger, also from out of state, told me he was surprised to see one running parallel to him - quite fast!
