Great one Miro.

Daring to go to 1/80 @ 400mm to get to f10 paid off!

Great shot Miro, detail is superb! That 50-200mm is on my wish list.

Thanks Geophoto. Show your friend this picture. There is no problem in equipment (partially). The key is: get close. 2,5 meters in this case.

A friend of mine ownes a Canon 50D with a 500 mm lens. He bought that equipment for taking pictures of birds. He is always fussing about the details in the feathers. My first thought on seeing this picture was: I have to show him this. My second thought: better not.

Thanks all.
Shirley, as for the feathers, I was surprised to, with details. Looking My other pictures of birds, I noticed that the structure or quality of feathers are different, smoother and with more thickness.

What a great bird photo! I can never seem to get mine this spot on focused! I love being able to see all the feather detail. It is always my goal when taking bird photos and even with Goosie sitting right at my side I can't get the detail you did! I know geese are extremely lonely and in pain when they loose their life time mate. I've seen a goose morn for years for his mate. So, I hope this little bird is perfectly happy in his solitude if he has some.

I suspect that this bied, at least, has lots of friends. At least in this forum :-)
