Maalula, Syria

Maalula, is a christian village, situated at North West of Damascus. Maalula means "the entrance" in Aramaic, referring to its dramatic location at the entrance to a rocky gorge.One of its mein characteristics is that Aramaic (was the native language of Jesus of Nazareth) language is still spoken there.
