Melting ice on a local stream provided a haven for a large group of ducks to gather. This was the only wood duck in the group of mallard and black ducks. He spent most of his time with a female mallard as shown in the pictures below. He would chase away male mallards that got too close.



He followed her up and down the stream.



She went on shore so he went on shore.
