This image clearly shows how man is dwarfed by the awesome power of nature and as loud as he or she may shout, nature's thunder will render it silent.

The voice of the person seems "drowned out" by the power of nature and the roar of the waterfall.

The emptiness of the composition in the falls creates for me, a kind of meditation of aloneness for this man. The figure anchors the image. Must have been a pretty loud roar to overcome the pounding of these falls.
