The girls in the entry courtyard of the Museo del Duomo appear unconcerned at the "Decapitation of John the Baptist"
about to take place behind them. The girl on the right seems to be in the direct line of fire !
Most museums in Florence prohibit photography of any kind, both for crowd control and protection of fragile works of art.
But the Museo del Duomo, as a museum primarily of sculpture, still allows photography with no flash or tripods.
The courtyard entry of the Museo del Duomo is beautifully lit with a skylight three stories high,
which makes photographs in this area a joy.
