It was a pleasant surprise when we chanced upon two of these birds feeding in a shallow lagoon. Black Oystercatcher facts: The Black Oystercatcher can live for more that 15 years. They migrate only short distances or not at all and are permanent residents of their breeding range. ~ whatbird.com
