Day 4 - Out Of Place

Portsmouth, NH view map

(735/365)

The first day of my non-riding winter season. I got out at lunch today for a trip to Best Buy (Returned something and looked at the 7D which goes on 'sale' in 4 days) and then set out for a photo. After walking around the front of the sub, I realized I should have brought my winter boots to work, my LL Bean low-tops do a great job of collecting snow, not so good at reflecting it. Anyway, this is the USS Albacore, permanently on display in Portsmouth, NH. Its a cool little tour, I've done it with the kids before, just a little short (nothing like Battleship cove in Fall River, Mass). I couldn't believe that the site was open AND there were a bunch of cars in the parking lot. While I was taking photos of the front, I watched a family enter it. I imagine it is pretty cold on that thing, I doubt there is any heat. At first I was pissed at the angle with the power lines in the back, but I kind of like the unnatural feel to it now. Not something you'd normally expect to see.
