4141 Brisbane's Bridge

Australian War Memorial, Canberra ACT

The bridge of the former HMAS Brisbane, a Charles F Adams class destroyer. The Brisbane was in service from 1966 to 2001, and (most of her) was sunk as a dive wreck off the coast of Queensland in 2005.

I'm not sure how the scuba divers who go down there feel about diving on a wreck which has no bridge, but they're probably too busy fending off the sharks which are trying to eat them to notice.

It's a pure coincidence (but certainly a curious one) that this image was shot #4141 from my 40D given that he Brisbane was DDG 41.

Given that I was sick of getting blown out pure white skies, I used a circular polarising filter on this image.
