January 19, 1894 - August 4, 1971
Born William Oliver James Hymas, Mr. Bright changed his surname to the maiden name of his deceased mother during WWI in which he served as a Grenadier Guardsman. He was among many who, on Christmas Day, 1914, emerged from the trenches to converse and play soccer with German soldiers. Offered an officer's commission at the start of WWII, he told them to forget it - his family was more important to him and he hadn't forgotten the British government's poor treatment of it WWI veterans.
