Scolty Hill

Boxing Day walk up Scolty Hill, to burn off the xmas excess!
Made the correct choice to leave the car in Banchory and walk from there,
as the road up to the forestry car park was a slick sheet of ice.
Many cars ended up sliding into ditches
or just plain stranded blocking the road! Their owners plans for
a leisurely stroll turning into a recovery exercise.....

Certainly a winter wonderland - missing it all in England. I have learned that leeson once before with Scolty Hill, the car situation wasn't so bad but I seem to remember coming down the hill on my backside a number of times!

Terrific shot, Stewart - beautiful tones and textures in B&W and a fantastically huge sky...LOL@Kevin!!

A superb winter landscape. A wise choice to leave the petrol in the tank and put the miles on your legs

I recognised this location immediately. It is a place I know well. I like the different textures and the balance in the composition. (Good call on the parking - that hill up to the car park becomes dire once the snow has been compacted.)

excellent winter in perspective, happy holidays.

Slippery roads and cars don't make a good combination. But this image was recompense for braving the elements.

WOW, that looks great in b&w.
