The Mauritshuis is a 17th-century city palace located next to the Dutch Houses of Parliament on Hofvijver Lake. It houses the Royal Picture Gallery, a museum in which some 800 paintings, including top works by Dutch masters such as Vermeer ('Girl with a Pearl Earring') and Rembrandt, are displayed.
