Troy Green is my hero. I first met Troy at Texas Raceway in 1997 at Texas Raceway. A few weeks before, I snapped a photo of his family owned front engine top fuel dragster. He contacted me after seeing it online, and wanted to buy a copy, he was my first sale! I got the prints made at a local photography shop and delivered them a few weeks later at TXR. He nominated me to become a member of the honorable Standard 1320 group online. He also invited me to go to the races with him. Before I even had a drivers license, I was on the road with the Green Family Top Fuel team and it was some of the most memorable races I've ever attended. Indy, Bakersfield, even Fallon, Nevada for the debut of the ADRA series, flop!
Green won the NHRA's Hot Rod Heritage Top Fuel Championship last year, and notched a win at the Holley Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green in a pedal-fest victory over Denver Schutz. This year, Troy added a new member to the Green Family, when he and wife Lara adopted their daughter Ava. This was Ava's first race and daddy took home the win in Top Fuel, what a way to start! It was great to be in the house when Troy won a Top Fuel race, keep your eye on that name, because Troy Green will be driving fuel cars for many years to come!
