Britain was in the midst of the ska craze in 1980 - The Specials, The Selector, The Bodysnatchers, The Beat and other 2 Tone bands were ploughing their earnest ska/rude boy furrow (and very good & danceable it was too) when along came Bad Manners with irreverent songs about high-alcohol beer and being fat!! I kid you not! Frontman Buster Bloodvessel was (and still is) of considerable girth, penning several songs over the years about his imbalanced height/weight ratio, "Lip Up Fatty" being my particular favourite :o)
For the non-Brits, Special Brew is a strong lager (9% ABV) the consumption of which is usually associated with alcoholism or 'down-and-out-ism'. I should add that this ISN'T a pic of a can of Special Brew, it's waaaaay too strong for me, oh nononononono....this is a photo of a humble can of Morland's 'Speckled Hen', perfectly quaffable at a more relaxed 5.2% ABV
Easy-squeezy shot - straight on at f/11 for super-sharpness, with a smidgeon of off-camera flash to make the it look interesting!

Have you ever tried belgian beer? It is as strong and you have quite different tastes... oh sorry, I did not bear in mind that you don't drink strong beers... anyway, I love this close-up and shape! (And prefer wine...:-)
Great idea, Doug. I am not much of a beer drinker, but my husband is; mainly Heineken though!
I like the angle you've chosen, with the hint of light on the right side.
Well done.
Whoa, whoa, whoa there Doug..... My beer of choice is a very fine Belgian triple ale - usually 9-10%. It is like sipping a fine wine, not guzzling some silly old speckled chicken!!! LOL!
Nice capture and terrific tune!
