Mt Diablo Beacon

Mt Diablo from Brentwood, Ca

The Pearl Harbor Survivors Association lights the beacon atop Mt Diablo on December 7th each year to remember the brave souls who defended our freedom during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
A heavy snowfall prevented it this year, but maybe someone snuck to the top and lit it despite the park being closed because of the snow. This photo was taken early in the morning on December 8th.

Great shot and it's good to hear about the effort that was made to remember the people that perished on that horrible day

Great to see that someone made the effort to light it! Very good photo of the area.

If there's a better angle for Diablo, I don't know where it would be.

A great time of day for this shot, Steve. My father in law, deceased, was a Pearl Harbor survivor and a career US Marine. A finer man never lived.
