Base End Stations

Northern California Coast

Base end stations like these built in 1940 are scattered along the California coast from Point Reyes south to Half Moon Bay. Sightings from two or more of these stations were used to triangulate the range from guns to target. These stations thus made up the base ends of a triangle. The data gathered at these stations was relayed to gun batteries surrounding the Golden Gate enabling big guns to lock onto targets many miles out to sea.

Sandra, This Base End Station is located in the Muir Beach Area north of San Francisco Bay. Pretty sure this structure is at 37.862789, - 122.585780

Nice bunker Pops. You need to post this up for Dave & Julieanne to see.
