Having made numerous stops en route to Sanibel Island, we had debated stopping at Bunche Beach. By mid-morning the sun worshippers have usually taken over the beach. Luckily for us, a few shorebirds and this lone Reddish Egret stayed behind. The tide was making short work of the sandbars, but I waded out into San Carlos Bay to position the egret with Fort Myers Beach as a backdrop.
