The Eagle was first spotted on a carrion just a short distance off the road. He wasn't the only bird at the carcass, as he was being harassed by a magpie and raven. More intent on feeding or distracted by his unwanted dinner quests...this had bought me some time.
By the time he realized that something else had arrived on the scene...I was in place and ready.
