Kowloon is in the distance. Kai tak airport is also down there and always presented a thrilling arrival when you were able to look into apartment windows whilst banking and descending to land.
I once watched a China Jumbo overshoot a little and skid into the water. (Memories of a Japan DC8 settled in San Francisco Bay several hundred metres short of the runway. We flew straight over it.)
Happily and amazingly, there were no casualties on either landing.
