I'm not sure how on topic this image is but he sure seemed lonely. He was very cooperative for his photo shoot and held this pose for an hour.

Thanks Techo and Bruce. Techo, thanks for the good suggestion. The background is just poster board and the uneveness always drives me crazy. I tried different techniques but a selective blur I think was the answer. Thanks. -dtallakson

They are fun to shoot. I like the off center composition and how you managed to isolate the mantis. The background looks slightly blotchy, but a bit of selective blur could fix that. -Techo
