13th - "Childhood's End"

Cheltenham, Glos

(from the 1972 album Obscured By Clouds)

It comes to us all in time...the onset of adulthood. For us bloke types, the rite of passage is usually marked by having to shave; what starts out as a 'once very few days whip off the fluff' ritual soon becomes a tedious, boring and repetitive exercise which must be carried out on a daily basis if we're not to resemble scruffy and untidy layabouts and have people toss pennies into our laps...

I'd grow a beard - I tried once, but I just looked daft... :o(. I'd look even dafter now, what with my unevenly greying facial hair :o((

So you're not a Philishave' (or any other make) man then? I think it'd drive me mad - the legs every few days are bad enough!!

You make shaving look glamorous, even exciting with this cool looking shot. "V"
Easily one of my least favorite things to do and growing a beard was not a way out for me either, not only did it look daft, but it was uneven and the itching nearly drove me around the bend. Also this is an expensive exercise with the ridiculous cost of razor blades that now have 5 little blades in a cartridge and wear out even faster. The only good part about shaving, and this is really good, is that Mrs. Amoxtli likes smooching more when I'm freshly shaved. :)

dramatic lighting in this ace shot...and a very important milestone for us boys..it does indeed mark childhood's end, although unfortunatley doesn't guarantee the onset of maturity...V

Good ! Excellent idea for this song !
but, If I may, girls never have to go through this step. Does this mean we never become adult ? Maybe.... ;-))))
