Vanity by Aurora

I stopped letting people snap my photo before I turned 60. Imagine it. I'm an overweight old Grandma. This was just more challenge than I could deal with this year. If you think I'm putting my photo up from now - dream on - LOL.

Very well done as it expresses your feelings. Remember, it's what's inside that counts and those that don't understand you know what to say. Chin up! Lew

This is a wonderful progression, Aurora, and the nesting doll as the final image is a perfect visual metaphor for the maturation process we all experience. Throughout our lives we change and grow to become new versions of ourselves, and yet our earlier, younger selves still exist inside of us-- like nesting dolls. I think you've created a wonderful self portrait that succeeds not just visually, but spiritually. Good job!

You were beautiful and you ARE beautiful in spirit and in your painting Aurora. Thanks for sharing your special story even though it may have been difficult for you to do. From one that knows how life can change in a moment ~ Judith

Someone at a high school reunion said ,"we are all old and fat now". Great how age kind of levels the playing field. Nice work here. Anita

Wow, this is beautiful. It celebrates your entire life, not just right now. I don't think it's about vanity at all, just about looking back over your whole life, not just the bad parts. It's your spirit that's beautiful now, not just your exterior. Thanks for sharing your story. Bethany
