The Fishermen’s island is about 400 metres long and 60 metres wide (in the widest point, the inhabitants underlined to me!) There is a central street, like a spine, and a few lateral streets, which join the main one like ribs.
Well, when I say “streets” you have not to picture usual streets, they are very narrows and in most of cases they allow the passage of only one person at a time.
Maybe one person and a cat at a time....
Actually, as I think to have already told, the island is a real kingdom for cats, which walk calmly and indifferent, with the unique haughty and gracious dignity which only cats, among all domestic animals, have.
A little family of black cats has elected this road as their own territory and one can find them here all the time, they check, they stroll, they simply enjoy their personal space, they might occasionally be so kind to accept a caress....
