Only a short walk from the hotel.
The whole area is safe for walking without guides and the local people, though friendly, do not hassle tourists. The walk down the hotel's access road leads past waterfalls and through secondary forest/ old plantation with spice "orchards" of cinnamon,etc. A small local shop at the juncture with the main road sells cool canned drinks.
