:o) not a tropical place Spain, although it seems to be at some times... anyway you know you have your home here! These poor palm trees doesn't produce any harvestable fruits. I think all the dates are eaten by some wild parrots that are living in BCN lately. endika

Mmmm dates make great cookies! I like them much better than rasins. Do these palms produce any fruit? Who climbs up there to get them down? or do they just wait for them to drop to the ground? I've never been anywhere tropical in my life! Not Califoria, not Florida, not Hawaii, not Spain, so I'm really dumb when it comes to bananas, dates, coconuts etc.. I sure love eating them though!

Thank you for your comments. I don't know why, but they insist to plant date palms near the sea shore, although this species doesn't tolerate salty winds that comes from the sea. The results are so poor usually as you can see here. endika

They look like stubby fingers with severe arthritis! Very interesting shapes, though.

They do look weather beaten or starved for the shoreline's water. Was it a storm that stripped the branches away Endika, or was it a lack of water, too much heat?

oh dear, those poor things... they look like they are struggling. I love the sound of our palm trees when they sway in the wind.
