Hackberry was a railroad and mining town discovered in 1894. It eventually became a tourist town on the old Route 66 road. However, when the new Interstate was built, Route 66 was bypassed and so was Hackberry. It did not have the same fate as Seligman, but it does have a wonderful general store that is packed with Route 66 memorbilia and other nostalgic items of a magical past.
