Eagle
Bruce Armstrong (2003)
Wurundjeri Way
Melbourne sculptor Bruce
Armstrong’s Eagle was commissioned
to commemorate the naming of
Wurundjeri Way. The work evokes Bunjil,
the spirit creator of the Kulin nations
which includes the Wurundjeri people.
Bunjil took the form of both man and
eagle during his time on Earth, and his
spirit continues to offer guidance to
those who choose to listen. Made from
jarrah timber, aluminium and glass, Eagle
keeps a watchful eye over Docklands.
