We asked the hotel desk staff in Lafayette if there was a good restaurant where we could get a little local food and local color. They directed us to Randoll's after we told them we weren't interested in the hotel dining room.. They got it right on both accounts. There was quite a hoopla going on when we got there. The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame was inducting some new members. That was interesting. We got a table and decided to do a little dancing. There was a major zydeco band playing and so we gave it a try. Now I don't have any idea how to dance to this music. Apparently many of the other dancers don't either. Ginny and I were clueless, but we hit the floor and had a good time. As you might imagine, being in this part of Louisiana there are lots of LSU fans here. As you can see, the accordian player was no exception. This guy was really good and put on quite a show. We found out later that he is Jo-El Sonnier, a very famous musician. We got quite a treat. We had a really good dinner and enjoyed the evening. The LSU fans were partying in preparation for the big game tomorrow with the Florida Gators. I have to admit that I would like to see LSU win. People who like to have as much fun as these guys deserve it.
