We stopped for lunch as we climbed upto the lookout tower. It was really windy and the sun had gone for the day. I took my hat off at lunch and it must have blown away from where we were sitting. After lunch we continued up and forgot about the hat. Upon discovering that I had left my hat at the lunch site the next morning, I went back to retrieve it thinking that either sheep, deer or elk would have destroyed it, but to my amazement a male grizzly bear, that was hanging in the area, had taken a bite out of it and left his claw lacerations on the side of the hat.
