I fear that this image may be somewhat banal - perhaps intentionally so. I have become acutely aware lately that as we record images of the world around us one of the things we are doing is creating the record of what life was like in the early 21st century. How did people live, how did they work, all of those things that we look to photography for when we explore our own pasts. So, banal or not, this is part of what was happening on Spring Garden Road in Halifax, Nova Scotia at 7:48AM on 19 September 2009.
