+Horse Bench - Shirley
by Shirley Haden

I also painted that painting in the background. In the original, it is just a sign for the Bon Fire Grill's happy hour specials. It was pretty ugly, so I painted my own painting to match the decor as best I could. I had a lot of fun with it.

Lovley shot Shirley, the lighting and b&w gives it great character.

A very interesting bench. Like how the light shows the detail of the carving. I'm trying to make out the painting. I cant seem to get my eye to focus as to what it is. I'll look at the original and see if that helps.

Thanks Paul and Colin! I'm going to post a full sized crop of the bench in my own galleries in case anyone wants to look at the bench. It is neat. I'm guessing it is a mass production bench made for Bon-Fire Grill restuarants but, maybe not? I think it has lots of appeal regardless.

There's some great detail in the bench carving. Almost worth some close up shots. Looking at the originals I like your painting. Works much better in that space.

Love how the light has picked out the detail in the carving.
This would make a great location for some portrait work, I can just picture someone in jodhpurs relaxing on the bench. Can I borrow it? :-)
