A classic is still a classic.
Yes, I built this car. I bought it at an auction the York Club had a few years ago and finally put it together. This is an Athearn metal bodied kit. Everything you see was included in the kit. The body was already pre-assembled, minus door and the lower door tracks. The ends, floor, brake parts, trucks, center-sill, bolsters, and floor clamps for holding the floor to the body were all separate. The hardest parts in assembling this was using a Dremel Tool to cut off the attached coupler box from the bolsters, and attaching the floor to the body using the clamps.
I added Kadee couplers to the car. Eventually it will get slightly weathered as well. This kit was probably manufactured in the early 1950's. I had bought another car from this collection which was assembled, that I replaced the roofwalk on. The kit had a data card with it saying how much it was bought for, and when it was built, and THAT car was BUILT in 1951!
