15 Taro root

Taro is a tropical plant grown primarily as a vegetable food for its edible corm,
and secondarily as a leaf vegetable.
It is considered a staple in oceanic cultures.
It contents a lot of Vitamins like B6, E, C.

Cook the root with the skins and remove before eating.
Use it as a vegetable; add to soups and stews, it is best eaten hot.
Flavour and texture are like a potato and chestnut combination.

Taro root reminds me of tofu, but obviously a different texture. Is it tasty? Could you leave the skin on to increase the fiber content (as we do with potatoes)?
