Just before this shot, the wasp was attempting to mount the beetle, but this one w the little bee watching was more interesting.

This time of year the male Polistes wasps are on the prowl- they hang out on the goldenrod flowers and jump anything remotely like a female wasp, including each other and this beetlw (not sure if it's a male or female, btw)

The tiny voyeur does seem most intensely interested. What a terrific shot. The wasp at right looks to have her (his?) "hands" over his head. "Not today, dear; I've got a headache." Well done! Brenda
