Thanks very much for the comments. These were taken handheld. The nice thing about the moths is they will circle the flowers once or twice as they feed. Just have to wait for them to come around.

Great series David, you sure know how to capture these moths. Excellent examples of what the oly system can do in the right hands. Are these hand held or with monopod/tripod? Care to share any tricks?

Placing this beside the previous shot makes for a fabulous pairing! Here, the proboscis is unfurled for sipping. And there's the added element of the smaller moth already on the thistle bloom. Razor-sharp, again. Wow.
