Let it be known, death panel exist in the form of OSCAR the Cat. Yes, that stealth creature who holds vigils with dying persons with advanced dementia -- really, is the death panel that Sarah Palin wants us all to be so scared about that we won't talk about what is so wrong with our health care system - persons don't have access to needed services, some persons receive burdensome care at the end of life that IS NOT consistent with what they want.
I welcome a debate about solutions. Not sure that I know the right answer, but I do have an opinion. There got got to be system of checks and balances with open, public accountability. We can disagree on whether it free market solution vs more government involvement. However, scaring the public with death panels is not the way to have this debate.
If you want to be scared of something, be scared of for profit insurers that deny medical care to maintain their bottom line.
Now that is a scary thought to me.
Sorry, I am totally sick of this tactic of death panels. Let talk evidence and solutions.
