Flicker showing off his colored wings. Northern flickers look somewhat different than they did in the East. For one, these colors! Also many seem to be bigger.
We have a good learning to do. We cannot ID many of the local birds. But many species are the same or very similar to East cost (for example house finches, Robins, House Sparrows, song sparrows, grackles, etc). Some look bit different (flickers, black birds).
State bird of NJ (goldfinch) are common around our house. We see them much more often than we did in NJ.
[PL] Lokalne ptaki wygladaja inaczej niz w NJ. Np. dziecial pokazany na tym zdjeciu ma bardzo barwne skrzydla. Ten sam gatunek w NJ nie mial tych kolorow.
Identyfikacji ptakow musimy sie uczyc od nowa.
