A flock of Horned Larks and Snow Buntings flew off when I got out of my car, but this longspur stayed put. To my surprise he didn't fly off even when I started walking closer and closer
to him. This was a life bird when I found it, and I have only seen one other flock of lonspurs to date (September 2009), only a few days later after finding this one in the same rural area.
