Death Sentence

Galveston Island TX

These beautiful old oaks are scheduled to come down. The red spraypaint dot shows the city workers which trees must go. Most of the trees in this section of Galveston Island were killed by saltwater floods in the hurricane last year. Some of the oaks were 100 years old.

That is so sad. They add to the grandeur of the site for sure. Very distressing to see trees being taken down, but in this case, I guess they wouldn't live much longer anyway?
