Clarke-Jockusch Home, 1895
Built by Captain Charles Clarke, a prominent figure in the shipping industry, the home was purchased by Julius W. Jockusch, a member of a pioneer Texas family.
He was a grain exporter and served as Consul of Belgium and Consul of Germany.
The Victorian masonry mansion is asymmetrical, and raised on a brick foundation that is stuccoed and rusticated to resemble stone.
