Moon Over Mono Lake

My tripod broke during this outing so had to pump up the ISO to 3200 and hand hold it. Lots of noise from the high ISO and not sure how to get rid of what appears to be lines up and down the photograph. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

1/40s f/6.3 at 250.0mm iso3200 full exif

I still have not tried some night shooting at high iso.. I've been bogged down with homework and a nagging cold that's wearing me down. You can go to this site http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1019 and do a search for 50d iso.... and you'll find lots of talk on that issue and more. the people there are hardcore pixel peepers and like to slam the camera gear so don't get bummed by what you might read about the 50d, or any other camera. i browse for some useful tips that might help me get better shots.

I bet this was spectacular to see, a full moon over surreal landscape on a warm summer night..Lucky you!

Not going to get rid of the lines (3200 ISO)unless you really want to over process/edit the shot. Good job of thinking on your feet and nice capture--they all can't be perfect, but for the circumstance, this one is!
