Galveston Island TX

Isabella Offenbach Maas Home
Built in 1886, this residence was shared by Isabella O. Maas and her daughter and son-in-law, Rosana and Nathan Redlich.
She was an Opera singer, born in Cologne, Germany, on March 11, 1817. Isabella was the older sister of composer Jacques Offenbach.
She toured Europe with young Jakob (Jacques) and another brother, Julius, giving operatic performances.
Active in civic and charitable organizations, Mrs. Maas lived here until her death in 1891.
The house, of a Queen Anne derivative style with Eastlake detail, features a front double gallery,
milled detail, and shingled and mill-detail gable ends.

Nice perspective and framing, well captured. Interesting background details too. I guess they were "offenbach" to this house after touring (groan!) ;-) + V
