Aug 26, Wed - day 20
Rogue Valley, Oregon
Weather - HOT!
After a long day yesterday Racine decided to take the morning off from travelling and work on her photos, along with the tedious cleaning and straightening that needs to be done occasionally.
Carla and I, never having our fill of new adventures, traveled east and then south through the pine forests to Howard Prairie. We told Racine we¡¦d be back around 2:00 pm. Nice thought, but how do two photographers manage time when more and more photo ops keep popping up? Well we didn't manage the time well, we travelled onward to visit another covered bridge, saw streams, ponds, lakes and abundant wild life including: several osprey, deer and some Acorn Woodpeckers.
We were into shooting an osprey on its nest high, in a Ponderosa Pine, and thought we'd better check the time...oops, looks like we won't make it home by 2:00 pm. Close, we were close, how about 4:30 pm? It would have been earlier if we hadn't stopped for some cute little donkeys, more osprey and a few red-tailed hawks. (Can't say that Racine really expected us at 2:00pm...matter of fact I'm sure she'd have thought something was wrong if we'd arrived on time.)
When we got back it seemed like a good idea to go out, grab a bite to eat and then what else was there to do but take off to look for some local deer and take in a spectacular Rogue Valley sunset.
Another busy and fulfilling day...I had a great time with our daughter, Racine was happy with what she'd accomplished and Carla was just trying to keep up with us. The adventure continues...
