For some reason, this scene reminds me of August Rush finding music in a cornfield or on a city street - oblivious to what anyone else might think of his behaviour. The dramatic sky and the upraised hands make for an effective combination, as if the musician is directing the weather!
And he's absolutely isolated out there - thanks to his father (in imagination, anyhow). No jets overhead, or cars, or crowds. I think it's great to introduce children to silence; maybe sometimes a bit of that rubs off.

What did ever happen to those open fields we used to run around when we were kids. Oh, I know, there are tract homes and shopping centers on them now. I miss those carefree days.

I like the mix of foo camera flash and ambient lighting.
