going with a double tee

This picture shows a variation from the first picture in the gallery.

It was decided to get away from the hard steel pipe that supplies oil to the turbo, and go with a flexible hose setup using AN fittings.

In order to do that, another port was needed at the stock oil pressure sensor block fitting. And, that is why there is now a double tee setup.

Because of the extra weight of tees, and fittings and hoses, I chose to use a steel 1/8" NPT threaded nipple at the block, in order to support the weight.

The first tee positions the 'standard' B21F low pressure switch straight out from the block, yet is not positioned so as to interfere with oil filter changes.

Because the alternator has been relocated to the driver's side of the motor, there is room on this side to locate the second tee 'forward', and allow for the routing of the mechanical oil pressure gauge tubing fitting [shown here with it's vacuum tubing abrasion protector], as well as permitting the locating of the 90 degree pipe adapter to go from 1/8" NPT to 4AN.

What is nice about getting away from the hard steel oil feed pipe is that the flexible hose and it's AN fittings makes servicing the turbo a lot easier....no more having to worry about bending the pipe out of the way and then trying to bend it back so that it lines up correctly to the turbo center section....and NOT cause a crack in the pipe.

Also, using a flexible hose lets me route the hose away from the hot exhaust manifold and bring it up to the center section fitting away from the hot turbine housing.
