hula dancer under the trees in downtown Honolulu. Old traditions are key in dancing hula as there was no written language in Hawaii before the missionaries arrived. Stories, history and tradition were passed down through hula and chants.
Really like the exposure in this one. Great perspective and a fine sepia rendition.

And another thing: The perspective. There are many interesting aspects in this photo.

I realy like this one, the movement of the dancer is very expressive and she seems to be looking at something far away, perhaps back into the past

What an artistic and dramatic composition! Her eyes draw me in, and there's such energy in that upraised arm. The continuation of ancient dances - hula, Highland fling, Irish step-dancing, or whatever else - keeps the roots of culture and ethnicity from crumbling. I'm a huge fan of dance and other forms of theatrical movement.
Beautiful shot! And the sepia tone retains focus on the dancer herself.
