Jul 3: Landscape Mine

I've often wanted to get this shot. Just before the sunset at this time of year with the sorrel at its reddest, and the last of the sunlight on the old mine buildings. I'd seen this many times without a camera, walked past the same view at the wrong time of day or wrong kind of light. The tourists always seem to shoot from the wrong angle, wrong time of day. This evening I was there with my Olympus Trip 35 freshly loaded expired Fuji Superia 400 X-tra Color. It has a fourth layer y'know. The light was perfect and the odd non-linear response of the expired film make it perfect. I really like this shot.

I have no idea what an 'odd non-linear response' is, but I like it!

And well you should. Excellent. Great comp... I love the bit of wire fence in the foreground, the curve of the hill, the tower... beautiful light, too. Good that you wiated for the right time, the right moment. I like photos that work this way, you see it over and over, it gestates in your mind, and then all you have to do is snap the shutter. I have those from time to time, a couple of times recently. By the way, great chat last night!
