Pre plastic time period - Kleivis

This prehistoric monster of a Ford Fairline Skyliner -57 was for sale this weekend. Price? About $100.000.

Colour or not? I've been back and forth but finally landed on colour.

I knew there were going to be cars. Glad I was right. The cars did indeed look better before.

Our first car was a pontiac to. 48 if i'm not mistaken. The kind where the directional lights were mounted on an arm that came out of the side of the car between the front and thee back door. I can still remember mum had to knock on the side of the car to have the thing popping out when we were about to turn right :-)

And my father still gets thunderclouds around his head every time he remember our second car , a Rover that went to the chopper with the body still intact.

What a beauty! If only we'd all known, back in the day, what the ol' family car would be worth someday. My parents had a '58 Pontiac Parisienne with the insert panels along the sides - in teal and turquoise. I still miss it - wish we'd kept it somehow.

I like the way you've set up this shot as if the viewer is about to slip behind the wheel. I wish!
