Home Fires -CB
by Collin Baxter

With Everything being fake and illusions nowadays, fake flowers , fake fire , fake wood , fake boobs and need I go on. We fortunately can still burn wood fires ( zoned) in our homes. We considered converting to gas but as I said to my wife while we can lets enjoy the old fashion fire that’s a bit messy and every now and again puffs a bit of smoke into the lounge as it is better than the ceramic logs and the fire places that give you an elusion of fires. As to the wood its all alien wood that is ripped out of cleared farmland and forests so we are actualy off setting a bit.

Good one Collin. Nothing beats the real thing.

Good take. Sepia as such instills the feeling of old times. Lovely cozy shot.

The fireplace is great, and they often come with great stryctured brick or stone walls.
I have one myself, and I can relate to the messy sometimes, but if it's possible to rank heat, I will say the heat from a fireplace like this is by far better than any other.

Lovely old world feel about this, the treatment is spot on

I can relate to this one. I love the wood stove we have here - as you say, it's real fire, real heat - transmuted from the sunlight the trees have converted for our benefit. This is a great shot with its interesting, muted tonal treatment so it looks old, like something one would find in a great-grandparent's album.

I like the way your treatment suggest an old print which falls nicely along the lines of the this theme, remembrances.
