Day 7

Packwood, Wa

Thur - Aug 13 – Thur
Randle, Wa.
Weather-partly sunny-mid 70’s (23C)

We woke at 7am to the birds singing and a smidgen of sun shinning through the clouds. After breakfast Carl went for a walk/talk, and photo op around the RV park.

It was time to do some of the necessary general cleaning and housekeeping tasks today and we also made some minor adjustments to our office set-up. To make things more efficient and comfortable when working on the computer, doing photo editing and writing the blog (thanks HME) we did a bit of remodeling to Gus, took out the dining table and installed a 5’ long desk top against the wall. Today we put in some eye bolts to strap the chair in place when we travel. The chair is on rollers and the tendency for it to slide down the hallway as we travel down the road was not something we wanted to continue. Mind you, we thought our temporary blocks (rolled up towels) would control the slide...not when we went around some of those twists and turns as we traveled on Highway 12 to Randle.

Lunch was around 12:30 and we felt so good about our day’s efforts we decided to reward ourselves and went out for the afternoon. Good thing...we had a few sunny periods, enjoyed the scenery and got a couple more elk shots...interesting...even the elk were wondering about the gas prices. Then it was home, download/sort, pack a lunch for tomorrow and bed. The adventure continues…
